Poorman's Paradise is
along the magnificent Pacific Coast on the Amaya homestead. This tropical
paradise is located in San Josecito of the Peninsula de Osa, the last
frontier of Costa Rica. Due to the lack of roads, this magical corner of
the world has maintained its natural beauty. A rustic setting with miles
of uninhabited beaches, scarlet macaws flying overhead, and the
captivating beauty of the rain forest, is a perfect setting for your
wilderness adventure. Back to Top |

•Location The Amaya family would like to welcome you to our paradise. Our family has lived on and improved our 165 acre farm for 35 years and have been sharing this beautiful, peaceful beach front location our guests for the past 6 years. Our paradise is located on the OSA peninsula on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. There are no roads here which has kept this very special corner of the planet unspoiled, very sparsely populated and naturally magnificent. Our miles of unspoiled beaches, beautiful rainforest, crystal clear rivers, waterfalls and abundant wild life is truly a "poor man's paradise". No need to get up early to find a spot for your beach towel. There are miles of uninhabited beach where you can find just the spot you want. •Adventure Activities Worlds Best Fishing: Our guides grew up on the ocean here. They will amaze you with their knowledge and skills. They can smell when a shark is near and can locate a reef 60 feet down in the vast ocean by the way the water looks on the surface. Sailfish, Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Grouper and more... •Great Tours: Hike through rainforests to Corcovado National Park right from our resort. Many day trips available to clear rivers with waterfalls, private protected beaches and more. Horseback riding is available along the miles of beach as well as through beautiful rainforests. Caño Island is directly in front of our resort. Not only does it add to the spectacular sunsets, it provides a tour to visit Indian ruins and crystal clear snorkeling. Boat tours are available with our guides. •Wildlife Because of our remote location, you will see more exotic species than anywhere in Costa Rica. We boast the largest population of Scarlet Macaws in Costa Rica. Parrots, and over 300 different species of other birds make our paradise theirs as well. There are almost always monkeys nearby as well as other mammals indigenous to Costa Rica. There have also been sightings of jaguars in the area. Back to Top |
