Getting to Playa Zancudo is an adventure in itself. If you drive ,dirt roads, river ferries and poor directionals make this an excellent road trip! Or you could choose to take a water taxi from the town of Golfito. This is probably the most convenient way to access Playa Zancudo. But if you have the rental 4x4 we recommend that you go for it.

•Remote Beaches

It doe not get much more remote than Playa Zancudo. The beach is wide and virtually uninhabited, with the exception of a few settlers and other travelers. Be careful of the current in the surf it is serious. Fantastic tides and big waves make this beach great for just hanging out.

•Island Cuisine
Ethel, owner/chef, is a fabulous cook. The food she is serving on the patio is fresh, thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Not to mention affordable.

Be sure to include your meals in with your stay with Marcel & Ethel. It is worth it.

•Personal Service
Marcel & Ethel live on site. They are very knowledgeable about the area and are able to arrange all your activities with reliable guides and operators. Everything from Internet/fax, laundry, surfboards, fishing, taxi, etc...Cabinas Coloso Del Mar are the perfect base camp while in the Zancudo area.

Surf fishing can be exceptional in this area. Catch of the day is giant Snook. Monster 30 plus lbs. Snook have been taken in the surf right out front. As well, Jacks & Roosterfish cruise the surf in search of a meal. River fishing can be quite productive. Small Snook hang out in the river mouths during the tide change. They are plentiful and plate size. Check with Marcel he can arrange a local guide to take you out for a very reasonable charge.

Cabinas Coloso Del Mar have 5 Rooms available. The rooms are in duplex beachfront cabinas. Each cabinas has it's own porch/sitting area, hot shower, safe, comfortable bed and fan. What more do you want. The beach is approximately 50 yards away.

"Coloso" is a very cool place to just hang out. Miles of beaches, affordable accommodations, great food and great people. There is not much missing at this beach retreat. Most likely you will run into other adventurous travelers just like you looking for a good time. Great place to go with the flow.

Based on double occupancy, per cabina, per night. Please add an additional US$2.00 per extra person. Ask about group rates.
